Job Description:

Location: 1347 Palmetto Ave, Winter Park FL 32789

Responsible for managing the reappointment process of all medical staff members, including updates to the credentialing database and privileges. This position oversees the alignment and reinstatement process for medical staff appointees and manages additional privileges for Allied Health Professionals. Additionally, this role maintains current documentation in the database through the Expirables Process. In addition, this position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role collaborates with various departments to support credentialing activities.
  • Processes medical staff reappointments and allied health renewals, including issuing application packets, gathering required information, verifications, and assessing compliance through completion of Board approval.
  • Assists department chairmen in reviewing applications in conformance with bylaws and department rules and regulations for presentation to the Credentials Committee or System Allied Health Committee.
  • Performs recredentialing and verification of other entity providers for whom delegated credentialing is provided, in accordance with said entities' policies and deadlines.
  • Coordinates the alignment process of new medical staff members and allied health professionals by monitoring those members whose primary department is being recredentialed.
  • Gathers required reports, information, and verifications, and obtains department chairman review for submittal to the Medical Executive Committee.
  • Processes requests for reinstatement of medical staff members and allied health professionals by generating necessary applications and gathering required documentation and verifications.
  • Manages expirables such as licensure, DEA certification, board certification, financial responsibility/malpractice insurance, and life support certification on a monthly basis according to the Credentialing Policy and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with bylaws, department rules and regulations, and credentialing policies throughout all processes.
  • Provides support and guidance to medical staff and allied health professionals regarding credentialing processes and requirements.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to credentialing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborates with various departments to support credentialing activities and maintain accurate records.

Education:
• Associate in business or healthcare administration, or minimum of two (2) years professional secretarial or administrative experience [Required]
• Bachelor's in business or healthcare administration [Preferred]

Field of Study:
• degree in business or healthcare administration, OR minimum of two (2) years professional secretarial or administrative experience
• degree in business or healthcare administration

Work Experience:
• Experience in Credentialing or a Medical Staff Services office. [Preferred]
• Experience with credentialing software [Preferred]
• Some related experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
• Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) [Preferred]

• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) [Preferred]
