Major Duties:
Under the direction or absence of the Beet Seed Foreman, this position coordinates the activities of the beet seed crew to complete the daily beet seed processing production plan. Provides work direction and acts as a working team leader supervising and motivating the beet seed processing crew.
Under the direction of the Beet Seed Foreman, the Assistant Foreman will organize and record all activities in the Beet Seed Warehouse. Written reports will include the location of all seed in various stages of preparation.
Under the direction of the Beet Seed Foreman and Beet Seed Processing Supervisor, the Assistant Foreman will accurately prepare shipments of seed for Crystal Beet Seed Sale Agents. This includes correct variety, lot, size, and treatment of seed.
Prepares a written receiving and shipping notice for all seed movements.
In the absence of the Beet Seed Foreman Electronically generate beet seed processing reports and completes monthly inventory reports.
Mathematically calculates recovery and losses for individual seed lots as they are processed. Maintains and repairs beet seed processing equipment as needed.
Operates an electric forklift and hand pallet jack, may lift pallets or tote boxes up to 2,500 pounds. Packages seed in 25 to 40 pound packages and applies the proper labels.
Operates a shrink wrap machine to secure seed container on shipping pallet. Takes beet seed samples and conducts on-line processing quality control checks.
Performs other duties as assigned (which may include assisting as needed with seed deliveries)
Required to work overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.
Individuals are required to take a Basic Skills Test to verify basic skills and knowledge, a Mechanical Aptitude Test and achieve the minimum scores as indicated below:
Basic Skills Test: Assessment Test Score
