Quality Engineer

Location: Waterloo, IA

Duration: 24 months with possible extension

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality activities with external metal fabrication suppliers (approximately 80% of the role)
• Execute Quality Plan Level (QPL), Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPAR), and PPAP for outsourced components
• Collaborate with suppliers to drive quality planning, issue resolution, and continuous improvement
• Support additional commodities as business needs require (approximately 20% of the role)
• Provide hands-on support during experimental builds, including containment actions and issue resolution
• Spend time on the shop floor to evaluate processes, validate quality plans, and support build activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• Manufacturing experience
• Practical knowledge of quality planning methodologies
• Background in metal fabrication and welding

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience working directly with metal fabrication suppliers
• 1+ year of experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering or similar role
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using SAP
