Under the direction of the head coach, the assistant coach will assist in all phases of the program, including on and off-campus recruiting, assisting with practice and conditioning activities, skill development, video breakdown, scheduling, academic monitoring of student-athletes, public relations, adherence to rules compliance, participation in clinics and summer camps and professional expectations.

Hiring Range:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Evidence of successful experience working within a basketball program at a competitive NCAA Division I intercollegiate level.
  • Experience in the process of recruiting student-athletes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NCAA rules.
  • Demonstrated record of professionalism.
  • Strong background in skill analysis and techniques of basketball.
  • Evidence of ability to interact positively with student-athletes, colleagues and the public.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Head coaching experience and/or associate head coach/top assistant experience at the collegiate level.
  • Experience in the process of successfully recruiting student-athletes in the Midwest region and/or has strong recruiting ties and relationships in the Midwest.
