Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Day/Night Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult medical/surgical patients, including those experiencing behavioral disturbances, on a 32-bed inpatient Medical-Specialty unit
  • Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise, utilizing age- and population-specific standards appropriate to the clinical setting
  • Operate unit equipment including EMR (Epic), telemetry monitors, Philips monitors, bladder scanner, AcuVein, and Omnicell
  • Float to other medical/surgical units across multiple campuses within the Fargo area as needed
  • Adhere to facility badging requirements and maintain compliance with unit dress code (navy blue scrubs)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent medical/surgical nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
  • Level 1 trauma experience required; prior travel nursing experience required (candidates on their first travel assignment will not be considered)
  • Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR
  • Willingness and ability to float to all medical/surgical units across multiple Fargo campuses as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced inpatient environment
  • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and Philips monitoring systems
  • Experience caring for patients with behavioral disturbances in an inpatient setting
