Role OverviewThis is a seasonal position; you can use your winter's off to travel, hunt, fish, or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year‑round.ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for safely assigning appropriate equipment and personnel for completion of duties or deliveries to assure on‑time and efficient use of resources by dispatching trucks and personnel in a timely manner to ensure the targeted service level and cost. In addition to dispatching, responsibilities include weighing trucks and assisting with customer needs and pit functions. A professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members is required.Minimum QualificationsGeneral computer skills; including Outlook, Work, and Excel.General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high‑school diploma or equivalent.Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.Ability to hold and maintain a license in accordance with all state regulations (preferred).One year of telephone service or order taking in a business environment; dispatch experience preferred.Additional InformationKnife River is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
