Job Summary

Forum Communications Printing in Fargo, ND is seeking a dependable and experienced Sheetfed Press Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for operating our Komori 8-color sheetfed press while maintaining high standards for quality, efficiency, and safety.

This is a full-time position for the second shift, with hours from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Expected compensation for this role is between $18.00 and $23.00, based on qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions
  • Operate and monitor a Komori 8-color sheetfed press.
  • Set up press for each job, including paper, plates, inks, coatings, blankets, and press settings.
  • Perform make-ready and color adjustments to meet job specifications.
  • Monitor print quality, registration, color, and density throughout production.
  • Read and follow job tickets, production schedules, and customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot press and quality issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Minimize paper, ink, and production waste.
  • Perform routine press cleaning, maintenance, and lubrication.
  • Complete production paperwork and accurately record production, waste, and downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Prepress, Scheduling, Bindery, and other production departments.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Assist with training and mentoring other pressroom employees as needed.
  • Collaborate with other team members.
  • Abide by all OSHA regulations and other established company safety policies.
  • Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating a sheetfed press is preferred (Goss or DGM).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous sheetfed press experience preferred.
  • Komori press experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of printing processes, color, registration, and quality control.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand job tickets and production specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Must be dependable and committed to maintaining a safe workplace.

  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, lifting, handling and moving items.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, push and pull items.
  • Requires full use of hands, arms, finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Physically able to operate machinery.
  • Frequent exposure to vibration, fumes or airborne particles.
  • Works in a printing plant environment. Work with moving machinery. Exposure to loud noises and moving mechanical parts.


Salary Description

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
