Grand Jury Coordinator

At the full performance level, the Grand Jury Coordinator provides a wide variety of work that involves planning, coordinating and scheduling activities of the Grand Jury. The incumbent performs complex and highly specialized support duties involving sensitive information, legal terminology and judicial processes. Duties performed require considerable exercise of independent discretion and judgment. Typical work assignments will include:

  • Transcribing, preparing and distributing both complex confidential legal correspondence, reports and other documents
  • Preparing documents pertaining to grand jurors and fact witnesses appearing before the grand jury.
  • Establishing and maintaining monthly calendar of grand jury activities including criminal hearings and related matters.
  • Providing technical advice regarding procedures and processing requirements of grand jury activities and cases.
  • Ensuring proper security for grand jury materials, files and records.
  • Participating in the orientation of new grand juries.
  • Preparing guidance explaining proceedings, testimony rules and courtroom roles.
  • Scheduling indictment presentations and grand jury investigative work.
  • Reviewing grand jury functions in the district to ascertain program needs.
  • Reviewing and processing invoices for payment of grand jury documents and transcripts.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
